Some game results from 1999:
Date: Saturday, 10th July 1999
Location: Adelaide Hockey Club
Time: 2:00pm
Home Game? Yes
Weather: Sunny and warm
Again, Pulteney were forced to play with 9
players today due to the absence of a few, but that did not stop
the fantastic effort the whole team put into this match.
Adelaide Uni had a full team, which allowed them to interchange.
Because POS did not have this option, many players started to
slow down a bit towards the end (understandably!!). POS' short
game has improved dramatically over this season and today was
the difference between the two sides. Pulteney scored freely
during the match, thanks to some excellent hits into the circle
where our players were in the right spot at the right time. POS
also did not clutter up the circle (it's hard to do when there
are players short...) which helped a great deal.
The final score was:
PULTENEY 5
ADELAIDE UNI 3
Date: Sunday, 4th July 1999
Location: Seacliff Hockey Club
Time: 12:30
Home Game? No
Weather: Clear skies, nice and warm
Well, the dark glasses were defiantly out
after last night!! (Old Scholars Dinner) The team pulled it
together early in the match but was often caught short by
Westminster. The first half nearly went by without a score but
Pulteney scored with a few minutes left. Pulteney also had many
open players throughout the match which created many
opportunities for scoring. In the last minute of the match, we
received a short corner, which Adam Baida converted.
The final score was:
PULTENEY 2
WESTMINSTER 0
Date: Saturday, 29th May 1999
Location: Adelaide Hockey Club, Greenhill Road
Time: 12:30pm
Home Game? Yes
Weather: Overcast, windy and cold.
The game was a fast, tough match and goals
were not easy to come by. Flinders scored off of a short corner
early in the match and the only other score in the first half
was when James Hand converted from a stroke.
The second half was even tougher than the first half. Pulteney
moved the ball around well and both Nick Ford and scored from
plays.
The final score was:
PULTENEY 3
FLINDERS 2
Date: Sunday, 1st August 1999
Location: North East Hockey Club, Golden Grove
Time: 3:30pm
Home Game? No
Weather: Overcast with a cool breeze
The game started at a furious pace from both
sides, with both sides going all out to score early. In the
first fifteen minutes of play, the score was 2-1 to Pulteney but
in the last five minutes of the half our defense got caught
napping and an own goal occurred off the keeper. At half time,
the scores were locked at two all. The second half was some what
lacking from the Pulteney side, which allowed North East to gain
the upper hand in the match.
The final score was:
PULTENEY 2
NORTH EAST 5 |
